December 5, 2014—The undergraduate Electrical ET team of students Shawn Kennedy, Luis Flores, and Ryan Hagood, guided by Dr. Elias Kougianos, won first place in the Computer and Electrical category at the College of Engineering annual Showcase of Undergraduate Research in Engineering.
December 5, 2014—The proposal “Optimization of an Innovative Stirling Engine for Energy Recovery/Production” on December 4, 2014, as one of the eight finalists in the US India Chamber of Commerce DFW “Spirit of Innovation Competition 2014.”

June 24, 2013—Three recent ETEC graduates have been awarded a patent for their brake light system idea created during their senior year capstone design course.
May 6, 2013—We are delighted to announce Dr. Michael Shenoda will be joining the department in Fall 2013 as Senior Lecturer of Construction Engineering Technology.
April 25, 2013—Matt Ellis, a senior MEET student, was awarded the 2012-13 Outstanding President Eagle Award for his leadership as president of the UNT SAE student organization.
April 19, 2013—Dr. Huseyin Bostanci joined UNT as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2012. He teaches classes in the area of thermal fluids sciences and is establishing a new Thermal Management Laboratory.
April 12, 2013—A senior design team in the MEET program converted the 1931 Ford Model A Mean Green Machine to all-electric. With a new paint job and a refurbished interior, the car is once again fully operational and greener than ever.
April 9, 2013—Student members of the UNT chapter of the Society for Automotive Engineers and Mean Green Racing have been working long hours in the machine shop at Discovery Park to build a fast and efficient Formula SAE series race car from the ground up.
