UNT joins Industrial Assessment Center program funded by DOE

Dr. Nourredine Boubekri and Dr. Huseyin Bostanci

UNT joins 37 accredited universities nationwide funded by the Department of Energy through the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) program.

Dr. Nourredine Boubekri is the founder, Director, and Principal Investigator of the newly established UNT Industrial Assessment Center (UNTIAC) through a grant exceeding $1.75 millions for a period of four years starting September 1st, 2022. Dr. Huseyin Bostanci is the Co-PI and Assistant Director.

UNTIAC is housed in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Discovery Park. The Center helps the manufacturing sector improve productivity, save energy, reduce carbon pollution, implement lean methodologies, smart manufacturing technologies, and robust cybersecurity systems. In addition to conducting research in the energy, and manufacturing areas, the center also involves undergraduate and graduate students in conducting its work and hence trains the next generation of engineers and leaders in these areas.
